What is Truth or Dare?
Truth or Dare is a party game played on one phone passed around the room, for 2 to 12 players. On your turn you pick truth or dare, get a prompt, and the rest of the table decides how you did.
It has one twist. A truth can be answered for real or made up, and the table votes on which it was. Read someone right and you score; fool more than half the table and you score more. Nobody has to share anything they would rather keep to themselves.
You can also play with no players at all, which is just prompts: tap Truth or Dare, read it out, and go on for as long as you like. And a game with players can have a limit on turns, or none.
There are six packs of prompts. Gentle, Playful and Bold are for everyone, from a family table up. Flirty, Late Night and Mischief are for adults only: suggestive and cheeky, never explicit, and any prompt can be passed. They are off until you switch them on, behind a sign-in and an age check.
How a round of Truth or Dare works
- 01
Set up the table
Add the players, or choose no players for just prompts. Pick your packs, then set the turns each player gets (or no limit), the swaps, and whether dares come with a clock.
- 02
Pick a side
When it is your turn, choose truth or dare. You get a prompt nobody has had yet. Don’t like it? Swap it, or pass.
- 03
The table votes
Everyone says out loud whether a truth was real or made up, or whether a dare counts, and one person taps it in.
- 04
Then the truth comes out
Whoever answered says whether it was straight. Everyone who read it right scores, and fooling the table scores more.
- 05
Keep score
A dare that counts scores too. At the end, or whenever the table has had enough: the standings, and three awards.

Questions about Truth or Dare
Do I need an account?
Not to play. Gentle, Playful and Bold need nothing at all. The 18+ packs need you to sign in and have Plus.
How many people can play?
From 2 to 12 with scores and votes. With more people at the table, more of them vote, so a bluff is harder to pull off. Or play with no players at all.
Can we play without adding players?
Yes. Choose No players and it is just prompts: tap Truth or Dare, read it out, swap it as often as you like and carry on. There is no voting and no score. Add players when you want the table to vote and keep score.
Does the game have to end?
Not unless you set a limit. Choose 1 to 5 turns each, or no limit, and end the game whenever you like to see the standings and awards.
Can I make something up instead of telling the truth?
Yes, that is the game. Whoever answers a truth can tell it straight or invent it, and the table votes on which. Nobody has to share anything personal.
Is it suitable for everyone?
The three packs for everyone are written for a general audience: nothing romantic, no drinking, and no dares that need a prop or a stranger. The 18+ packs are off until you switch them on, and they are for adults only.
What is in the 18+ packs?
Flirty is about crushes, dates and chat-up lines. Late Night is confessions after dark. Mischief is wicked questions and daring dares. They are suggestive and cheeky, never explicit: no prompts about sex, none about anyone under 18, and no dare that involves touching or drinking. Any prompt can be swapped or passed.
Will I see the same prompt twice?
The game keeps track of what it has dealt and does not repeat a prompt until it has used them all.
